The essence of adolescence
When I am in your presence
I’m at the peak of youthful elation
Much more than the meager manifestations
That are often mistaken for love
This is more like a higher calling from above
As if God molded you from all my dreams and wishes
A heavenly compliment yet when I check no rib is missing
Yet still I feel like I am in my own personal Eden
With you by my side life’s every event is sweetened
Long walks in the park walking hand in hand
At first I did not understand love it but perhaps it was by divine plan
Now it is like the sweet melodies of love are everywhere
My soul revived as take in the serenity of the fresh air
Taking in the sunset that illuminates the horizon with beautiful hues
Never recognizing that beauty until I found the same in within you
Love so true minus the games because what we have is so real
This is not poetry but a love letter to express how I feel
So captivated by you enthralled by your rapture
My untamed heart has finally been captured…
