My life was over, dark as the night
Lonely, empty, black and cold
No light ahead, no joy, no love
And then he came into my life – pure gold
No boundaries, no limits, no walls
No shackles or chains
A thousand ruby red roses bloom
Over and over again
Where the deepest orange sunshine
Starts and ends each day
A golden warming glow which heats
The coldest heart to lay
It burns inside, a yellow flame
Lighting, igniting, a human wick
A candle, most scented, strong and alive
Glorious, lustrous and slick
Lush green leaves, fronds and ferns
Fertile mounds of flesh and bone
Complete, replete, thoroughly drenched
Sub-tropical downpour, new and unknown
Birds fly free, away in the sky
Higher and higher, far into the blue
Soaring, swooping, gracefully lithe
Limbs and sinews help me to – to –
-to be lost, submerse myself, my all
In your eyes, dark indigo bright
Pools so clear, so pure, so deep
Cleansing me, cleaning me throughout the night
You shake me, you stir me, you mix me up
Naked and violent, your violet love
Takes me out of my body and out of my world
And over the rainbow, so high up above
